Christine first came to Hospital Loma de Luz in 2005 for a short term trip, leaving her home in Newnan, Georgia. After several more short term trips, she came full time in January of 2010. She met her husband Orbin (Calix) Maradiaga while working at the hospital and they were married in April of 2015. They have a daughter, Samantha born in October 2016, and two sons, Lucas born in May 2019, and Levi born in March of 2021. Christine supervises the Hospital Laboratory and X-ray departments. Calix is in charge of the hospital’s African Palm farm. They are both very active in the community and the local church.
