Christine first came to Hospital Loma de Luz in 2005 for a short term trip, leaving her home in Newnan, Georgia. After several more short term trips, she came full time in January of 2010. She met her husband Orbin (Calix) Maradiaga while working at the hospital and they were married in April of 2015. They have a daughter, Samantha, born in October 2016, and a son, Lucas, born in May 2019. Christine supervises the Hospital Laboratory and X-ray departments. Calix is in charge of the hospital’s African Palm farm. They are both very active in the community and the local church.
