Called to medical missions while still in high school, Christy began a journey, led by Jesus, that took her to medical school in Mexico, followed by a general surgery residency in New York, and,
in 2021, a General Surgery position in Lafayette, Indiana. She had the opportunity to participate in various medical mission trips over these years to Mexico, Haiti, Togo, and finally to Balfate, Honduras (Fall 2023).

Jake spent 10 years in industry working in design and manufacturing engineering roles before entering the mission field as a global worker. Previously, he served his local church for several years, handling maintenance, AV, and IT support.

Jake and Christy met when she moved to Indiana in 2021 and later became engaged after her
trip to Togo. “It was obvious to us that God has a plan for Hospital Loma de Luz, and a wide-open door was
before us. After our marriage, we prayerfully began walking towards it, asking God to always go before us. The door has remained open, and today, we are able to help, serve, and love the
people of Honduras in the name of Jesus.”

Our Ministry:
Christy came to Loma de Luz to serve as a surgeon at Hospital Loma de Luz, using the skills. God has granted to bring healing to the hurt in the physical world. She also disciples, as
relationships with patients develop and are extended to those within the community. Jake came to Loma de Luz to serve as the facilities engineer. Using his skills in systems design,
fabrication, and maintenance, he oversees the upkeep of essential infrastructure, ensuring that
all systems run effectively and safely. In addition, as he develops relationships with the local community through the maintenance staff and local contractors, he will help advance Hospital Loma de Luz’s vision.
